Philipp Dexheimer (The Dexheimer Lab)
The cover is a photograph of a handmade mosaic which shows a human brain emerging from multiple distinct stem cell lineages. The glassy tiles resemble individual cell types forming during differentiation while the four distinct lineages, originating from a single stem cell each, hint at the multiplexing strategy developed in the lab of Giuseppe Testa at the Human Technopole. Their newly developed method enables high-resolution analysis of neurodevelopmental trajectories, linking individual genetic variation to brain disease and neurodiversity.
