Wnt signalling controls patterning and differentiation across many tissues and organs of the developing embryo. We used the software tool WlzWarp to spatially map all Wnt (signal) and Fzd (receptor) gene expression patterns, captured using a 3D Microscopy technique called Optical Projection Tomograpy, to stage-matched reference mouse embryo models. We used this 3D Atlas to identify novel territories where multiple Wnt and Fzd genes are co-expressed. This work provides insight into a level of organisation of gene expression patterns not previously possible.
