The LeuT fold is a common fold shared by many membrane transport proteins. There are over 400 chains matching the LeuT fold in PDB. Some are in an outward open conformation, some inward facing, and some inbetween; and they have been captured in a variety of substrate-bound and apo configurations. Interestingly, the regions involved in opening the inner and outer gates differs between (and sometimes within) different LeuT-fold families. This poster summarises the wide range of LeuT-fold structures found within the PDB - with the help of some feline friends.
