Chipster provides a biologist-friendly GUI to over 250 analysis tools for microarray and next generation sequencing data, such as RNA-seq, exome-seq, ChIP-seq and CNA-seq. It combines analysis workflows and visualizations, including the built-in genome browser. The genome browser calculates coverage on the fly, allows zooming to the nucleotide level, and high-lights SNPs. Chipster shows genomic locations in BED and VCF files as links that enable the user to navigate to the corresponding region in the genome browser, which allows for example a rapid inspection of reads supporting a particular variant. Chipster is open source software made primarily with Java. A virtual machine server is freely available.
