We show how Aquaria can be used to visualise the predicted effect of SNPs in 3D. SNAP2 (https://rostlab.org/services/snap2web) predicts the effects of every possible mutation of an amino acid in a given query sequence. Using a wrapper around the SNAP2 API, we convert these predictions into json format for usage in the Aquaria API. Aquaria (http://aquaria.ws) shows the alignment of the query sequence onto sequences with known structure, thus displaying the probable structure of the query sequence. As a result, amino acids predicted to have a high effect on mutation can be analysed in 3D. The spatial arrangement of these residues can help to elucidate function.
