Rondo was developed as a web-based tool that enables any molecular biologist to interactively explore chromosome conformation data sets from a wide range of technologies, across numerous human and mouse cell lines. The user interface of Rondo has recently been significantly upgraded with several improvements, including a new color scheme. Four primary colors are used; each is divided into 3 different shades, then further augmented using a striped patterns. This creates a color vocabulary that is used to encode the numbering of all 23 human chromosomes.
