Modern 3D+T video microscopy techniques provide detailed insights into complex processes in organismal development. However, this high resolutive data is often too rich and detailed for manual analysis, for example, when considering the development of the zebrafish (Danio rerio) from a single cell (zygote) to a complex organism consisting of ten of thousands of cells. Moreover, the analysis and validation of this time-dependent data is still a challenging and very time-consuming task. In this poster, we present various methods that enable a combination of image processing, mathematical (statistical) analysis and interactive visualization tools for exploring such complex data. More in detail, we analyze coherent and similar cell movements based on motion features and cell division patterns as well as the manual inspection and comparison of cell-based features and the depiction of spatial embryonic development over time.
