The Electron Microscopy Data Bank (EMDB) is a public repository that stores three-dimensional electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM) data of macromolecules, complexes, and cellular structures. It covers a variety of techniques, including single-particle analysis, helical reconstruction, electron tomography, subtomogram averaging, and electron crystallography. To facilitate interactive exploration, EMDB integrates a 3D viewer based on Mol*, a state-of-the-art web-based molecular visualization framework. This tool allows users to interactively inspect EM volume data, overlay molecular models, and gain deeper insights into structural details. The EMDB 3D Viewer offers three key features: (1) coloring molecular models by EM validation scores (Q-score, Atom Inclusion, and Local Resolution), (2) displaying composite maps together for a comprehensive structural overview, and (3) visualizing tomograms with a slice viewer for detailed inspection.
