The Spitrobot is a device used to simplify time-resolved crystallography. The substrate is 'spit' onto the crystal, initiating the catalytic reaction. After a specific period of time, the sample is plunge-frozen and the reaction is stopped so that the crystal can be measured using X-ray crystallography. In this way, the enzymatic reaction can be observed at different times, providing insight into the dynamics and function of proteins.https://www.physik.uni-hamburg.de/en/inf/ag-pearson/subgroup-schulz.html
