Protein structures are important for understanding biological processes on the most fundamental level. Here, we present a web-based molecular visualization tool designed to explore, customize, share, and present 3D protein data on the browser. The Molecule Viewer (MV) demonstrates usage scenarios to customize and annotate 3D structural data, save camera/model states to create snapshots, and share the curated content through a generated URL. All curated content can be viewed directly in touch-enabled mobile/tablet devices, and immediately configured for viewing in mobile virtual reality (VR) for immersive experiences of the molecular content. The Molecule Viewer viewing framework can be extended as the 3D visualization engine to support other pipelines for tools in molecular simulation, and beyond.
