Cytoscape is an open source bioinformatics software for visualizing molecular interaction networks. KEGG is one of the most comprehensive pathway database, and its maps have been used extensively in biological researches. Keiichiro Ono and I have been developing a Cytoscape plugin called KGMLReader, which imports KGML(KEGG Markup Language) formatted networks into Cytoscape. In this poster, I will discuss about the extension of KGMLReader to Cytoscape Web. Cytoscape Web is a component that allow users to embed networks into HTML documents. By Combining Cytoscape Web, Google App Engine, and KGML, I have created an install-free web application that can explore KEGG pathways interactively. I believe this web application facilitates an introduction of Cytoscape, and can be used as a basis for biological web services integration.
