The Goldsmith's FoldSynth project uses a simplified dynamics simulation to show possible folding paths of proteins. Also, in collaboration with Oxford it provides tentative 3d conformations of DNA/RNA based on known contact probabilities. Here, we show a "History Trace" View representing the path of particles in a DNA simulation transitioning from an initial open state into a candidate confirmation, with predicted Topologically Associated Domains visibly forming. As this view is itself three dimensional, it is possible to manoeuvre the camera through it, examining from different angles or focusing on specific areas of interest. Pausing the simulation allows one to reflect in detail on both the dynamic properties and their aesthetic expression in the visualisation. With the range of tools available, the user is able to transition fluidly from careful scientific analysis to more playful or reflective artistic expression.
