The DNA in every living organism is unique. To celebrate this fact, we created a tool that displays the genetic variation of one person in a unique artistic picture. Every variant stored in a VCF file is analyzed to determine its consequence, such as adding a stop codon, a synonymous protein change or intragenetic variations. Every variant is drawn on the ring corresponding to its chromosome, with a dot of the size and color determined by the predicted consequence. The result is a unique artwork for every person, showing at the same time how much and how little we know about the human DNA. The sample image was created using one person (NA12882) from the Illumina Platinum trio.
