Aquaria is a publicly available web resource that streamlines the generation of insight from protein structures, by aligning sequences of unknown structure onto sequences with known structure, highlighting the differences. We have recently improved Aquaria as a resource through integration with Jolecule, a molecular graphics tool natively written in JavaScript, using WebGL. The program has been designed to be tightly integrated with a web server, both to cache protein structures and to store any annotations made and to publicly share with a unique URL. Functionality of Aquaria which used to only be available using a Java applet has now been extended into Jolecule.
