The increasing use of public databases such as EMDB, EMPIAR, and BioImage Archive has expanded the availability of volume segmentation data, introducing the need for an interactive web-based visualization tool. Furthermore, different challenges in the biological imaging field have become clear; among others, the integration and visualization of correlative and multimodal data. Here, we present Mol*VS, an extension of the Mol*Viewer web-server which is intended to broaden the scope of the viewer to the cellular scale. Mol*VS delivers volumetric and segmentation data to Mol*Viewer, enabling the interactive visualization of cellular imaging data supported by macromolecular data and biological annotation. Mol*VS is open source and freely available, running since September 2022 at https://molstarvolseg.ncbr.muni.cz/. Mol*VS gives access to major segmentation datasets from EMDB and EMPIAR, and also supports the visualization of OME-NGFF and 3D map volumes from light/EM microscopy. Additionally, a local instance of the tool can be run by all users, enabling them to input EMD-SFF file.
