GenomeDiagram is a flexible Python library that provides a straightforward API for visualisation of large scale genomic, comparative genomic and other data with reference to a single chromosome or other biological sequence. The library produces circular and linear renderings of genomes and associated features, including line, bar, and heat plots. GenomeDiagram can produce publication-quality vector graphics, raster images, and streamable graphics for web use. GenomeDiagram has now been incorporated into the freely-available and open source Biopython tools for biological computation (doi:10.1093/bioinformatics/btp163; http://biopython.org), and integrates with data types provided by these tools, facilitating incorporation into automated analysis pipelines. GenomeDiagram is also the subject of an ongoing science/art collaboration with the Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art, and works resulting from the collaboration have been exhibited internationally.http://www.biopython.org/DIST/docs/tutorial/Tutorial.html#htoc165
