Getting poster data...
Hendrik Rohn (Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research Gatersleben, Gatersleben, Germany)
Many approaches in Systems Biology take into account information on metabolite-, enzymatic and gene-regulatory levels, but most neglect spatial (except compartmental) information of their distribution. In our approach we combine standard Systems Biology visualisation with manifold two-, three- and four-dimensional information, such as high-resolution NMR-volumes and spatio-temporal metabolite distribution derived from stacks of in situ cross-sections. Based on a Java3D volume renderer and VANTED, a tool supporting visualisation of *omics data in the context of networks, we developed a platform integrating and visualising these different types of data. The approach allows to visualise the data separately, map the data from different domains together and visualise the mappings using views, such as 2D graph view, image stack view and 3D view. These methods allow to explore and understand the relations between the data in an intuitive matter by taking into account all available data using a system wide approach.
