For 2024, the award was won by Leonora Martínez-Nuñez from UMass Chan Medical School (Worcester, Massachusetts) for ‘Musings on the Protein Alphabet’.

Leonora will receive a cash prize of $250 dollars, a PeerJ publication fee-waiver, and have their work showcased on the PeerJ Blog.

Dagmara works at Cancer Research KI in Stockholm, Sweden, focusing on science communication and outreach. She obtained her PhD on 3D imaging and quantitative analysis of intact tissues and organs at Karolinska Institutet.
