Venue

The EMBO Conference on Visualizing Biological Data (VIZBI 2019) will be held at the EMBL Advanced Training Centre (ATC), located on the EMBL, Heidelberg campus at the following address:

Meyerhofstraße 1, 69117 Heidelberg, Germany

The EMBL conference office provides general information for participants, a participants' FAQ page, as well as information on how to get to EMBL. For VIZBI participants, there will be a special conference bus that will pick up from specified stops in the morning and return from EMBL in the evening.

Accommodation is not included in the conference registration fee.

What type of room can I book?*

• Single room - a room with a single bed for 1 person only
• Superior single room - a larger single room or a double room used as a single
• Double room - a room with double bed ideally for a couple
• Twin room - a room with 2 single beds for 2 persons
• Shared twin room - the use of a single bed in a twin room (shared with another participant)

Local Transport

Conference Shuttles Buses

A free conference shuttle buses service will be provided for VIZBI 2019 participants. The buses will go from designated stops near the hotels to EMBL and back, mornings and evenings. See the Conference Bus Schedule.

Important info: Please note that NOT every bus stop will be used for every event. The bus stops for this conference are:

*The bus 39 also travels to and from Königstuhl so please make sure you take the bus 39 stating EMBL as a destination. **Bismarckplatz - is the main bus and tramway stop in Heidelberg city centre. Please note: this bus does not run on the weekend or public holidays. The fare is 2.40 EUR, paid directly to the driver.

Childcare during the conference

Childcare is offered for children between the age of 3 months and 3 years to registered conference participants. The children will be looked after by highly professional Kindergarten teachers, employed by the EMBL Kinderhaus. This service is offered for the duration of the entire conference for 100 Euro per child. Childcare can only be provided for 10 children per conference.
