Registration for the main conference is now open via the link below. The conference registration fee includes admission, conference materials, meals, drinks, and coffee breaks. Accommodation is not included however, the registration link below does allow you to additionally book a room in a conveniently located hotel (see Venue).
Registration for the Data Visualization Masterclass is also now open. Note that the masterclass is not included in the conference fee, and you can register for it without registering for the main conference. Note also that virtual participation in the masterclass is not possible.

Virtual Participation
VIZBI 2017 virtual participants will be able to access a live web stream of high-quality video covering all scheduled talks during the main conference (but not the tutorials). The web streaming service also allows virtual participants to type in questions for the speaker via chat, which is passed to the session chair during question period at the end of each talk. Virtual participants can also choose to upload a short video which will be displayed during one of the Lightning talk session - for details, see the Posters page. Discount for Garvan and Sydney University
Staff and students from the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and from The University of Sydney are eligible for a 15% discount on registration for the main conference. To take advantage of this discount, be sure to use your institutional email address when creating your account with Currinda.
Discount for ISCB
Members of the International Society for Computational Biology (ISCB) are eligible a 15% discount on registration for the main conference (note this cannot be applied in addition to the Garvan and Sydney University discount). We encourage VIZBI 2017 participants to consider joining the ISCB before registering, to receive the discount and additional benefits. If you are an ISCB member, you can register with the ISCB discount by entering below the email address associated with your ISCB account - you will need to use the same email address when you complete your registration for VIZBI 2017:
Press Registration
Accredited journalists may be eligible to register for a reduced press rate. If you wish to take advantage of this, please get in touch with us, providing accreditation or equivalent proof of press membership. If your application for a reduced press rate is not accepted, you will still be able to finalise your registration at the academic rate with an online payment.
Registration FAQs
What Is The 'Online' Registration Dashboard?The registration dashboard is a unique online system, which provides delegates with an effective and efficient way to register and look after all aspects of the conference themselves prior and post conference. You can revisit your registration dashboard at any time to add social function tickets, add/amend your extras, book or amend your accommodation, make payment or download your invoice.
If you have previously registered for a conference run by ASN, you would have more than likely developed your own 'registration dashboard'. If so, when registering for this conference - please enter your email and password under 'returning delegate', and click on 'VIZBI 2017'.
If you are yet to register for a conference run by ASN - you will need to set up your own registration dashboard and therefore you will need to click on 'register as a new delegate'. Once you have filled out your details, you will have now developed your own 'Registration dashboard'.
How Does The Payment Work?
A secure site is provided for online payment of your charges. This has its own section on the 'dashboard'. The payment options are:
Credit Cards: Visa or Mastercard. AMEX is accepted but a 3.3% surcharge applies for all AMEX payments.
Direct Debit: you will receive an email with the banking instructions upon application.
Cheque: either personal or from your institute.
An Australian Tax Invoice will be provided for all registrants once registered. You can reprint this and your receipt from your 'dashboard' at any time. The ABN for the conference is 90 093 246 176. All rates quoted include GST and are in Australian dollars. All online registrations are checked by the secretariat. If there is any query they will contact you. If you wish to make changes or additions after you have registered, return to your 'dashboard'.
Can I Register More Than One Person At The Time?

Can I Cancel My Registration?
Cancelling your registration will incur a fee. Cancellation must be made in writing to the conference secretariat. If you have gone ahead and registered, and then changed your mind - please let us know within 24 hours of registering to avoid any cancellation fees. Registration cancellation outside the 30 days prior to the conference, a $100 cancellation fee applies. Registration cancellation within 30 days prior to the conference is a full registration cancellation fee. Please note, if we do not receive payment of the cancellation fee, it may affect your attendance at future conferences run by ASN.
